We consult the experts. Everyone deals with stress differently. It may be one big Christmas issue that's causing anxiety or a buildup of smaller pressures. We are all unique individuals, so the best way to deal with stress starts with understanding why it's there, says life coach and cognitive hypnotherapist Jessica Boston. You want to find its root cause and what it's really about.

So write down a list of symptoms and ask yourself these questions

  • Are there specific times when you feel more stressed?

  • Are there specific times when you feel less stressed?

  • What worsens it?

  • Have you always had this stress?

  • Where in your body do you get the feeling associated with your stress?

  •  Do you get that feeling in any other circumstances?
